Do You Need Insulin After A Pancreas Transplant
From Type 1 Diabetes To Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Thea has been through it. From a young age Thea had diabetes. Being a young diabetic and having to manage that care is such a great responsibility for a young child. And Thea had such an amazing story. Of course overtime the diabetes had Took a toll on her body and dialysis became the only option. Back then hemodialysis in a clinic or peritoneal dialysis. But there weren’t even peritonea dialysis cycling machines back then so Thea had to do all manual peritoneal dialysis exchanges. Ultimately Thea did have a kidney and pancreas transplant. And then overtime lost function of that kidney and required another. She tells an amazing story about traveling through Mexico doing manual peritoneal dialysis exchanges in her VW bus. There never let type one diabetes or kidney disease control her life. She continued to live her life to the absolute fullest and I can’t tell you what an honor it was to interview her and hear her story.

My name is Sam Jennings and 12 years ago I had a living kidney donor transplant. My older sister gave me the ultimate gift. The gift of life.

Now I set out on my own path to give. I’ll never be able to give a kidney to someone but I could dedicate my life to help others the gift of life they need. My mission is to build a surplus of donors. So nobody that doesn’t have to. Never has to spend another second on dialysis.

So please follow my podcast and if you have a calling. But haven’t found what that calling is. Call your local transplant hospital and get signed up and save a life.
